lake hartwell and baby ella

emily, josh, ella, and meredith came up over the weekend for some fellowship and fun in the sun. some of mom and dad's good friends let us stay at their lake house on lake hartwell to enjoy each other's company. thanks mr. and mrs g!

we had lots of fun getting to see each other. we hadn't seen ella since the beach and her and ty had lots of fun together.
mere and eli relaxing after sliding down the big blow up slide a ton of times.

great times in mobile

we loaded up the fam and took a trip to mobile during july. we didn't stop moving the whole time we were there. it was quite exhausting but loads of fun! we got to see lots of family and friends and are indebted to kate and andre for their true southern hospitality. wow! they not only spoiled the boys, but chris and me as well. here are some pics from the week.

playing on the splash pad with grannie
i couldn't resist this pic
jumping off the diving board at uncle bryan and aunt carol's
he watched his cousin zac jump and then took off. the first time was by himself!
visited with pawpaw or baba as eli says
got to see maw and paw and eat a great meal with them
ate foosackley's with chris and katie jett
our first time seeing the newly married couple
kate spoiled eli and let him do just about whatever he wanted to do
Kate, he is still saying your name and "no no lola" :)

we had lots of fun introducing ty to all of chris's family in mobile. we can't wait to see everyone again!

remember last year when i talked about dead week? in case you don't, it happens to be the best week of the year in my personal opinion...and i'm sure to all coaches' wives across georgia. well that is if they like spending time with their husband and if he happens to be as good as mine and gives the whole week to them.

last year dead week came and went and then lots of things happened...a football season, child #1 turns one, a new pregnancy, sick 4 months, a baseball season, child #2 is born, a summer baseball season, etc. i say all of that to say i forgot all about how good dead week is. i forgot just why i highlight this week in gold every year. i guess because so much had happened since last year. but chris's actions reminded me very quickly just why i love this week and how good God is that he planned ty to be born just a month before this week.

here is a little of what happened on dead week and then a new stanza to the ode to dead week i wrote last year.
lots of swimming
and sleeping...well at least for me and ty
playing with daddy

playing in sprinklers
cleaning out cars and body work on the focus
that door hasn't opened in 2 years because of a dent caused by a deer
garage cleaned out
chris's closet cleaned out and organized

date night at louie's

he also did laundry and dishes...i was in heaven

and if you noticed, i wasn't in many of these pictures. that is because chris let me catch up on my sleep. praise the Lord! that was the best gift he could have ever given me. oh yeah, and a great date night at louie's on the lake. perfect week, i'd say! and since it was perfect, here is a little ode that came from the depths of my heart. :)

dead week o dead week you have come and gone again
all my laundry has been done by another's hands, while i peacefully slept in

our closet is reorganized & our garage is super clean
and all week my husband has treated me as if i were a queen

eli has had lots of extra time with his daddy by his side
and i've had another set of hands to help whenever ty has cried

dead week o dead week i hate to see you leave
i long for your presence and your oh so sweet reprieve

hope your summer as been as good as our's has. we are enjoying every single day and not looking forward to the fall and football season quite yet.

happy fourth!

i feel like a broken record but I LOVE SUMMER! i just can't just enough of it and i love the 4th of july. there is just something about everyone laid back enjoying vacation and sporting their red, white, and blue that makes me happy. i didn't take a ton of pics from the weekend, so here are the few i did. we had a lovely time at the lake with the kafskys', barrys', blusters', and williams' fams. as you can tell from the pic above, mere won most patriotic for the weekend. i think the blue chair is what sealed the deal for her.

chillin on the dock
LB was quite enthralled with baby ty
e loved the kiddie pool but hated the lake

what we've been up to...

we've had lots of visits from people all over. these are pics of my dear friends from yhc and their kiddos. lucy and jess came to visit from hot atl and brought their kiddos to hang out with eli. while they were here, noelle, another yhc gal, came over and brought her girls. lets just say we had a grand time! and the atl girls brought me some chick-fil-a which totally hit the spot!

madison and ty...she was very interested in ty.
