remember last year when i talked about dead week? in case you don't, it happens to be the best week of the year in my personal opinion...and i'm sure to all coaches' wives across georgia. well that is if they like spending time with their husband and if he happens to be as good as mine and gives the whole week to them.

last year dead week came and went and then lots of things happened...a football season, child #1 turns one, a new pregnancy, sick 4 months, a baseball season, child #2 is born, a summer baseball season, etc. i say all of that to say i forgot all about how good dead week is. i forgot just why i highlight this week in gold every year. i guess because so much had happened since last year. but chris's actions reminded me very quickly just why i love this week and how good God is that he planned ty to be born just a month before this week.

here is a little of what happened on dead week and then a new stanza to the ode to dead week i wrote last year.
lots of swimming
and sleeping...well at least for me and ty
playing with daddy

playing in sprinklers
cleaning out cars and body work on the focus
that door hasn't opened in 2 years because of a dent caused by a deer
garage cleaned out
chris's closet cleaned out and organized

date night at louie's

he also did laundry and dishes...i was in heaven

and if you noticed, i wasn't in many of these pictures. that is because chris let me catch up on my sleep. praise the Lord! that was the best gift he could have ever given me. oh yeah, and a great date night at louie's on the lake. perfect week, i'd say! and since it was perfect, here is a little ode that came from the depths of my heart. :)

dead week o dead week you have come and gone again
all my laundry has been done by another's hands, while i peacefully slept in

our closet is reorganized & our garage is super clean
and all week my husband has treated me as if i were a queen

eli has had lots of extra time with his daddy by his side
and i've had another set of hands to help whenever ty has cried

dead week o dead week i hate to see you leave
i long for your presence and your oh so sweet reprieve

hope your summer as been as good as our's has. we are enjoying every single day and not looking forward to the fall and football season quite yet.
