Update on Little Bit

Eli has thoroughly enjoyed the summer. He loves to be outside playing in the grass, swimming in the lake, ocean, or pool, and strolling around in his stroller or wagon. He is so observant of the sounds that come from outside. Dad even swears he said "dog" this morning when he heard a dog bark.

We believe his first real word is "bye". He says it whenever anyone starts to get off the phone. He knows the key phrases, such as "love you", "alright", "i'll talk/see you later", and immediately says "bye" when he hears them. Do you think I might talk on the phone too much? It is possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen. He also waves now when he says bye.

He loves to go anywhere in the car. He is so good at playing by himself with his toys. He is really starting to take lots of steps together. He walked 10 feet or so yesterday. He hates shoes! Which is partly the "Tree hugger" in his mom and partly the "Alabama" in his dad. :)

He will be 11 months this Thursday. He has a cold/ear infection. He was weighed today at the doctor and came in at a whopping 19 lbs and 4 oz. Bless his heart. He is a tiny little thing.

quick trip to ssi

last week mom, em, and i took a quick little trip to st. simons to see some family. it was good to hang out with lori, rachel, tim, uncle don, and aunt janet. we enjoyed the beach, pool, and lots of great seafood. thanks for taking us in for a couple of days. this was truly a vacation and i didn't take many pics. so here are some of the only ones i have to offer.

the last leg of our trip back to habersham--we did make a pit stop to watch the raiders play under the friday night lights in apalachee.
saying goodbye to the aunts. sometimes i wonder if he gets enough attention!

low ride-errr...

eli has a new favorite toy...his wagon. he loves to ride around and check out everything that is happening outside. he looks so darn cute as he is being strolled around the yard and neighborhood. whenever he is whiny, the wagon is my trick to break his mood. that is until it's time to get out...

p.s. cute story...chris and i went out to dinner with some new friends a couple weeks ago and my parents graciously kept eli so we could enjoy ourselves to a nice dinner. when we got home eli had a new wagon and a black eye. i laughed so hard. the wagon was from boodon and the black eye is still a mystery! i'm sure there will be many more to come though!

This is So Easy

After reading in "What To Expect the First Year" I decided to let Eli hold a spoon while feeding him. I put some mashed potatoes on his fork and he knew exactly what to do. He fed himself all of his potatoes with a little help from mom putting the potatoes on his spoon.

1st Raider Game

Well, this wasn't an official game but we will count this as Eli's first full football game. It was a scrimmage against Stephens County last Friday night. Eli sat in my lap, or at least someone's lap the whole entire game! That is huge for him because I can never get him to sit in my lap ever! He loved watched the players, fans, cheerleaders, and loved listening to the band play. When everyone held up four fingers to bring in the fourth quarter, Eli even raised his hand!

These pics were taken after the game with Daddy. Eli stayed awake the entire game and then feel asleep before we even got out of the parking lot. He was worn out from cheering on the Raiders. I will also say that his Mommy was a little worn out herself learning how to manage a little one and watch the game at the same time. Hopefully, he will be this good the rest of the football season.

story time

Eli loves a good story especially when it has places on each page to feel. Every time we sit down in this chair and I ask, "Do you want to read a book?" he always starts to laugh.








He loves to feel the book and turn each page for me.
